Lower-face definition is one of the most requested aesthetic outcomes. This one-day advanced course teaches jawline contouring and chin augmentation with precise anatomy, the right product choice, and an aesthetic philosophy that creates definition without overdoing it.

The course covers the anatomy of the lower face and its danger zones, structural jawline contouring along the mandibular border, and chin augmentation for both projection and shape. It is the third step in our dermal filler pathway, after Beginners and Cheek & Tear Trough, and before the Lips and Rhinoplasty masterclasses.

What You Will Learn

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  1. Describe the anatomy of the lower face: the mandible, chin projection, gonial angle, masseter, marginal mandibular nerve and facial artery.
  2. Assess facial proportions from the front and side, including the chin-to-lip relationship, and choose the right treatment for each patient.
  3. Contour the jawline with periosteal injection along the mandibular border for a smooth, continuous line.
  4. Augment the chin at the pre-chin and chin tip, for projection or for shape.
  5. Adapt your approach to male and female chin and jawline aesthetics.
  6. Select firmer, higher G prime fillers suited to the lower face.
  7. Inject in safe planes around the facial and labial arteries, and follow an emergency management protocol.

Practical Training and Assessment

Every technique is practised hands-on, on live models, under direct supervision. With a maximum of six delegates, your trainer gives you individual feedback throughout the day.

How the course is assessed

Pre-study
The pre-study pack and assessment on our learning platform, completed before your practical day. Your login is issued when you book.

Theory and demonstration
Lower-face anatomy, danger zones, products and technique, followed by a live demonstration by your trainer.
03
Practical sign-off
Your trainer observes your treatments on live models, gives individual feedback and signs off your competency before your certificate is issued.

CPD Certification
Our course material is CPD Certified by The CPD Certification Service (Member No. 7006). CPD Certification confirms that the course material meets recognised CPD standards and guidelines. It does not confirm the competence of any learner completing the course; competence is assessed by PHP Training Academy against its own assessment criteria. Under the GMC, GDC, NMC and GPhC, CPD is self-directed and self-declared: your certificate gives you the evidence to record it. It is a record of training rather than a regulated qualification.
I trained with another provider. Can I join?
Yes, if you completed beginner and mid-face filler training with a recognised provider and treat filler patients independently. If you are unsure, contact us before booking and we will check.
Why are different fillers used for the jawline and chin?
The lower face needs structural support, so firmer, higher G prime products are used. The course compares the products suited to this area.
Do I treat live models?
Yes. Every technique is practised hands-on on live models under direct supervision.
Is SoMUK membership worth it for this course?
SoMUK members pay £680 instead of £850 for the group course, a saving of £170. Membership costs £150 a year, so this course alone covers it.
What should I take next?
