Vascular Occlusion Is the Complication Every Injector Fears
Skin necrosis — and, rarely, blindness — can follow a single misplaced millilitre. For years, injectors have worked blind. They don’t have to any more. Ultrasound lets you see the vessels before you inject, confirm where filler sits, and recognise and manage an occlusion the moment it happens. With BMUS’s 2023 guidance and the JCCP raising the bar on safe practice, real-time imaging is fast becoming the standard of care — not an optional extra.

How the Course Works
The course is blended: structured pre-study prepares you before a focused, hands-on practical day scanning on consented live patients.

Pre-study
A learning pack and presentation covering ultrasound physics, facial vascular anatomy, the ALARA safety principle, and the recognition and management of vascular occlusion — followed by an MCQ.

Practical day
Hands-on scanning on consented live patients: operating B-mode, mapping vessels with colour Doppler, identifying filler, and recognising occlusion — in a group of no more than six, or 1:1.

Certificate
A CPD Certified certificate of completion, with a faculty-signed record of practical competency, plus a full learning pack to keep for reference.

Your Certificate
What it shows
Your name, the course title and date, structured learning hours, and a faculty-signed record of practical competency in aesthetic ultrasound.
Under the GMC, GDC, NMC and HCPC, CPD is self-directed and self-declared: you choose learning relevant to your scope of practice, and you record it. Your certificate gives you the evidence to do that. It is a record of training and assessment — it is not a regulated qualification, and it does not by itself establish your ongoing clinical competence.

This course is CPD Certified by The CPD Certification Service (Member No. 7006). CPD Certification confirms that the course material meets recognised CPD standards and guidelines. It does not confirm the competence of any learner completing the course; competence is assessed by PHP Training Academy against its own assessment criteria.
