The Face That Deflates Faster Than the Skin Can Follow

GLP-1 medications do not act on the face directly. What happens is simpler and harder to treat: rapid weight loss deflates the facial fat compartments faster than the skin can retract, producing the gaunt, prematurely-aged look often called “Ozempic face”. With an estimated one in ten aesthetic patients now using these drugs, you are already seeing this in your chair. The question is whether you recognise it, and whether you know when to treat and when to wait.

How the Course Works

This course is delivered entirely online. There is no practical component and no attendance is required. You work through the learning pack at your own pace, complete the assessment, and email your answers.

Who this course is for
Aesthetic practitioners with existing injectable training who are treating, or are likely to treat, GLP-1 users. You must already be trained, registered, indemnified and working within your lawful scope for any treatment you go on to provide. This course informs your assessment and planning; it does not, by itself, qualify you to perform any procedure.

Under the GMC, GDC, NMC and HCPC, CPD is self-directed and self-declared: you choose learning relevant to your scope of practice, and you record it. Your certificate gives you the evidence to do that. It is a record of training and assessment — it is not a regulated qualification, and it does not by itself establish your ongoing clinical competence.

CPD Certification
This course is CPD Certified by The CPD Certification Service (Member No. 7006). CPD Certification confirms that the course material meets recognised CPD standards and guidelines. It does not confirm the competence of any learner completing the course; competence is assessed by PHP Training Academy against its own assessment criteria.
