Exosomes are extracellular vesicles that carry biological cargo between cells, signalling repair at a molecular level. The biology is extraordinary and the evidence is building. So is the marketing — and the ability to tell a standardised product and a lawful route from a supplier’s claim is now a clinical responsibility. This course addresses that directly.
The regulatory position — please read before booking
No exosome product is currently authorised for injection in the United Kingdom, and human-derived exosomes must not be injected. A CE or UKCA mark does not authorise injection, and neither does a prescription or a clinic’s CQC registration.
The accepted route in UK practice is topical application, typically immediately following a procedure that has opened the skin barrier — most commonly microneedling. What You Will Learn
Exosome biology
What exosomes are — vesicles of roughly 30 to 150 nm and their cargo of proteins, lipids and RNA — and why they are not stem cells, whatever the marketing says.
The clinical evidence
What the published human evidence currently supports, what it does not yet support, and how to read a manufacturer’s data pack critically.
Regulatory framework
The UK position on injection, what a CE or UKCA mark does and does not mean, and the difference between a medical device and a cosmetic product.
Product standardisation
The questions to ask before buying any exosome product — source, concentration, characterisation, cold chain, and what the supplier can actually evidence.
Application protocol
Topical application following microneedling — timing, quantity, the condition of the skin at application, and aftercare.
Consent and records
How to describe the treatment to a patient accurately, what consent must cover, and how the treatment and its route are recorded.

Exosome treatment is rarely used alone
In practice these three treatments are layered: skin quality is prepared, the tissue is stimulated, and the result is supported. Delegates who train in one usually return for the others within the year. We therefore teach them together at 22 Harley Street, in a single combined programme covering all three — the sequencing, the intervals between them, and what each adds that the others cannot.
