What You Will Learn

Bony anatomy
Frontal, temporal, zygomatic, maxillary, mandibular, and nasal bones. How bony anatomy determines soft tissue position and age-related bony changes.
Muscles of expression
Every muscle of the upper, mid, and lower face — origin, insertion, action, and aesthetic implications for botulinum toxin decisions.
Fat compartments
Superficial and deep fat compartments, their borders, and how differential volume loss produces the characteristic signs of facial ageing.
Facial vasculature — danger zones
Facial artery and branches, angular artery, supratrochlear and supraorbital arteries, and nasal arteries. The danger zones for every injectable procedure.
Facial nerve anatomy
Branches of facial nerve VII and their clinical relevance. Motor and sensory innervation and prevention of nerve injury.
Skin anatomy and ageing
Epidermis, dermis, hypodermis — composition, collagen and elastin, and how bony resorption, fat atrophy, and ligament laxity combine to produce facial ageing.
